Giselle Anguizola has dedicated her life to swing and jazz era dances since the age of 13 - during the swing revival of the 90's. She  has been an unmissable voice in the swing community for over a decade; as a social dancer, competitor, DJ, performer, instructor, judge, and organizer. One of the top proponents of syncopated footwork, personal style, improvisation and communication - Giselle will breathe rhythmic life into any dance, class, or stage appearance.  She frequently performs with traditional jazz & swing bands, blending live music and dance improvisation.  

 

 

She has appeared at New Orleans’ “Jazz Fest” with "miss Sophie Lee", "Preservation Hall Jazz Band", and "Meschiya Lake & the Lil Big Horns".  You can sometimes catch her on Royal St. dancing with "The Smoking Time Jazz Club".  She has performed with "Trio Gadjo", "Reggie's Red Hot Feetwarmers", "Loose Marbles", "Tuba Skinny", "Palmetto Bug Stompers", "Luke Winslow King", "Royal Frenchmen",  "Speakeasy Trio", "Royal Roses", "Ben Polcer", and "George Gee" to name a few.  They call miss Happy Feet, "G" for short. 

 

Giselle is founder of Girl Jam, an organization honoring women in jazz music and dance - Girl Jam hosts weekend festivals around the globe, inspiring Jazzy women of all generations. She co-produced, choreographed, and performed in “Olio The Show”, a modern day, vaudeville production based out of San Diego that showcases the evolution of jazz from African dance to hip hop. She has worked at Keiller Leadership Academy (charter) and El Centro Cultural de la Raza (latino community center) in San Diego, teaching traditional jazz movement & swing to kids and young adults ages 6-18. She has also worked and performed with NOLA Jitterbugs and the NOLA swing dance festival in the big easy.
